Have you ever put salt on a sweet potato? It doesn’t make much sense until you add the other seasonings in this recipe. It’s a unique flavor that’s hard to describe, and hits multiple taste zones.
This winter time favorite will give you that comfy, mug-of-cocoa feeling of satisfaction. Go ahead and start a fire in the fireplace, prop your feet up, and enjoy. Don’t feed these to your dog, though! Although doggos love sweet potatoes, these have a bold seasoning blend that would be too much! Sweet potatoes are a great way to have a naturally sweet flavor that doesn’t spike your blood sugar. They’re high in vitamin A and potassium. And, hopefully this recipe will show you how versatile they are! If you stick to the regular sweet version like you see at restaurants, try just using cinnamon and no brown sugar. It’s actually pretty sweet without the added sugar. At least get the brown sugar on the side and try adding a small amount, and see how little it takes to taste good. Here’s today’s recipe: Chop up 2 big sweet potatoes in a baking dish coated in coconut oil Bake at 300 for 40-60 minutes, depending on how done you like them Halfway through your cook time, using a silicone basting brush, mop 3-4 more tablespoons of coconut oil all over the sweet potato chunks, and jostle all of them around so they roll over and turn in the baking dish. Sprinkle on 1-2 tbsp of chili powder 1-2 tsp curry powder 1/2 tsp ground cumin 1/4 tsp allspice 1 tsp sea salt Dash of cayenne powder if you want it Return to oven If you roll them around anymore, they will probably fall apart and the seasoning will rub off. Just serve onto the plate or storage container with a spatula and leave them be. Enjoy! Here’s to Your Health!
